Experience Magic at Sundance Drive-in — Join Us to Keep It Alive!

Hi! My name is Lisa, I’m 36 years old, and I may be having my first midlife crisis.
I’ve done and seen so many things in my life already. I was in the US Navy for 4 years and have visited some beautiful parts of the world. I’ve held down an array of jobs, and have had many unique experiences. I went to dog grooming school last summer and became a dog groomer, and yet… I’m restless.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m content with my life and my little family that consists of my four beloved dogs and David, a dog trainer and my boyfriend of 3 and a half years.
However, what I’m lacking is adventure. Also, the funds to go have those adventures.
Daryl Hannah once said, “It’s not necessary to go far and wide. I mean, you can find exciting and inspiring things within your hometown.”
This got me thinking.
What gems in my hometown have I been missing out on because I was too busy wishing I was somewhere else?
Currently, I live in Toledo, OH. I have lived here on and off all my life.
Toledo has always been a unique city. It has a large city feel, but not overwhelmingly big like Chicago or New York. We have plenty of staple locations like the Toledo Zoo, The Toledo Art Museum, Botanical Gardens, and Metro Parks. But what about those little known places? Those places that hold a little mystery and magic?
It will be my mission in this blog to take you through my days in Toledo as I discover new and exciting things that the city has to offer.
I’m a huge foodie, so you’ll see a lot of restaurant reviews as well as special events and small businesses that you will only find in Toledo, OH.
I’ll also bring you along on my days as a dog groomer because, well, everyone loves dogs.
While on my journey to discover new things in my city, maybe it will inspire you to find the gems hidden within your own.
The more we learn about our hometowns, we maybe, just maybe, will find that adventure lies in what we choose to seek out and perhaps will learn more about ourselves in the process.
